It's interesting that both have their mouths open. Did you notice if one snapped at the other, or were they just play fighting?

I think they were both playfighting. Nobody got bit, but they sure were threatening each other.

That is an amazing fact about Red Foxes and this particular group, on San Juan, has many variations. It was amazing to see each time!!
