What a beautiful bird, really unusual for Arizona.

This is where we live! Wish we’d known you were here. We probably ran into you, or you drove by us walking. Our daily walks are on South Fork Road. At least 2 females have arrived, and we actually witnessed copulation between the pair on the lower part of the road 2 days ago. The male up by the berm is still calling all day and roaming widely, hoping for his mate! Another pair is further up the trail. BTW, the name change isn’t recognized by all of the birding organizations, but because eBird accepted it, most people use it now.

Ditto Janet. And I'm not going to rename my photos - this is a very elegant bird. I really miss our trips to Arizona.

Dan, awesome photos and appreciate the information you shared about the birds and their habitats and the renaming. John and I were fortunate to photograph a male trogon several years ago and it is one of my favorite bird pictures. Thanks so much for sharing.
