They are such appealing subjects
Stunning shots. I love how mesmerizing their eyes are. They just lock you in. Thanks Dan!
Marylou, Owl's eyes are very special. They seem to look right through you.
They sure do!
It's great that you documented the banded owl's travels! I hope she is happy in her current home.
She's been there a few years so it seems as if she is content with her life.
Great photos and commentary
thank you
When I was growing up here, my dad used to take me out to watch the planes at Deer Valley Airport and there were some burrowing owls out there.
We spent a lot of time in the desert there, back when there was open desert there.
Thanks for the great pictures.
That's a great memory Dave. We've lost so much desert by now.
Yes we have. I was looking at Google Maps to see how much it’s been developed.
That whole area north of Deer Valley airport was open desert back then.
The only thing out there was the CAP canal and the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club.
I spent a lot of time out there exploring and shooting with my dad.
I think the youngster was thinking it was hot outside of the borrow, that and hunger dominates his days!
That could be. The hunt for food never ends.
Just LOVE these guys!! :)
Thanks Jennie. They are so cute!
