When I was growing up here, my dad used to take me out to watch the planes at Deer Valley Airport and there were some burrowing owls out there.

We spent a lot of time in the desert there, back when there was open desert there.

Yes we have. I was looking at Google Maps to see how much it’s been developed.

That whole area north of Deer Valley airport was open desert back then.

The only thing out there was the CAP canal and the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club.

I spent a lot of time out there exploring and shooting with my dad.
