I believe one of these guys put a sideways hole in my Sahuaro. Took him a couple of weeks to drill the hole through the arm, then he never lived in it. He was persistent.
I will pay more attention when I'm out on my nature walks. Perhaps I'll be fortunate enough to see one of these birdies. So pretty and I love the white rump patch ❤️
Really enjoy our Northern Flickers; don't think I ever saw a Gilded Flicker, and if I did, I would have mistaken it for a Northern. Thanks for the clarification.
