For a long time I thought I was seeing snow geese fly over head in spring and fall and now seeing your pictures I realize that is not what they were.! Thanks for the pictures and information. I googled a bit and see now that I am actually seeing trumpeter swans. Rare when I do but enjoy their unique sound! Also interesting you mention the Bald Eagle...today while walking I say one fly over head. The first time I have ever experienced that! Only ever had seen in captivity. Beautiful sight.

Trumpeter Swans would be a wonderful sight. Where do you live??

I live about 40 minutes north of Toronto Ontario. Very close to water and areas where swans do grace our presence. Beautiful to see them.

Glad to see Tucson is a safe stop-off place for them, good to see them here.

Yes, it's always nice to see when some birds explore beyond their normal range.

Wish we had gone to Bosque Del Apache while we were enjoying our trips to Tucson! (only 2000 miles from Ottawa)

You did miss a wonderful spot. But you can see Snow Geese nearby. I read that you can see tens of thousands around Cobb Lake/Bourget and near St. Isidore, Ontario during spring migration.
