What a treat to see four lifers in a single trip! They’re all stunning!

The markings on the Harlequin Ducks are so striking. Beautiful pictures. Love learning from all you share. Thank you!

Enjoyed hearing about the cormorants. I remember them from China where they are used to catch fish, then prevented from swallowing the fish. Somehow they still are motivated to catch fish time and time again. And I remember them from the Sweetwater Wetlands.

Harlequin ducks were cool too.

I've heard about some cormorants being used for that purpose. I'm sure they are rewarded enough with their own food to keep them 'working'.

Great writing again. Trying to line up a trip to the San Juans. You should start a travel agency.

Thanks Mike. Let me know if you have any specific questions about any aspect of your trip. I may be able to answer them!!

Another great article by you! I’m excited to plan my own excursion to the San Juans.

Thank you, Dan. Having your emails helps me stay away from the news! I’m paying attention to you and natural wonders! Your photos are beautiful!

Really nice, Dan. I've seen Harlequin Ducks in Wyoming, but only females. The males and females migrate separately, I've been told.

Thanks Steve. They sure are special looking ducks.

Thanks Ned. I was looking over my shoulder to the Skagit Flat area often, reminded of our trip there.
