The Baldwin Gallery at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum will be showing a large exhibition of some of my photographs this summer along with artwork by my friend Ana Gonzalez. Below is a screenshot from the Desert Museum's website of the upcoming show. You can view the Museum's entire announcement here.
The exhibition will run from May 24 - August 17, 2025, in the Baldwin Gallery at the Desert Museum. An Opening Reception will be held there on May 23 from 3 - 5:00 PM.
Here is a small sample of some of the photographs that will be featured. Long time readers may recognize a few:
A male American Kestrel at the tip top of a tree in a Tucson cemetery.
A richly colored Barn Owl asleep in a willow tree at Sweetwater Wetlands
A Broad-tailed Hummingbird in Miller Canyon in the Huachuca Mountains
A thirsty Bobcat on my front porch on an extremely hot summer morning, lapping up water while keeping a steady eye on me.
A Fig Beetle (not a June bug) on a wild cotton flower in Sabino Canyon. (June Bugs are east coast beetles, Fig Beetles are a western US beetle)
A Checkered White Butterfly on an Indian Blanket flower.
A male Great Horned Owl looking back at the nest before taking off on a summer evening's hunt.
Sunset over the Silverbell Mountains in Marana
I hope you have the chance to visit the exhibit some time! The exhibition will be open during regular Museum hours throughout the summer until August 17th, including each of the Saturday "Cool Summer Nights".
Congratulations Dan!! A well deserved honor.
I regret not being able to see your work in large format
